Question posed by : both parents on S.S….father has cancer.mother has first stages of Alzheimer’s(sp)there a grant to help me?
I still work and am finding it harder and harder and missing alot of work taking father to his radiation and Kemo….I just want to know if there is a grant or any programs out there to help…….

Most detailed answer:

Answer by lollipop
There may be home health care, or other groups, to come into the home and help care for your parents. Ask the doctors office where to start looking for help for them in your area. Also your father should be eligible for free transportation to/from his doctor appointments.

A question asked by Judi V: How do I prepare for TWO parents with Alzheimer’s disease?
I have been helping my dad take care of his wife who has Alzheimer’s disease for 3 months. All of a sudden it’s becoming obvious that the same thing is happening to my dad. He has been the one in control. What do I need to do to get prepared for BOTH of them being “lost?”

Chosen answer:

Answer by Catherine
That’s tough…but you can beat it. Pray for strength if you are a spiritual person. You can also go for counseling which should be beneficial to you. It will really take a toll on you so make sure you tell your friends and extended family what is going on as their support will be of great help. All the best!
