only one that feels this strongly about it. She can’t walk she wears depends and used them all the time. My dad doesn’t need the care as much as she does but he is needy. I am getting so burnt out taking care of both of them. If she was in a nursing home then everybody could go visit her as they wanted and enjoy their visit. But they think that if she goes into a nursing home she is going to die immediately. Am I wrong for feeling this way?

He has refused all assistance. He is still alert and capable enough to understand at certain times. He got very upset when we discussed moving in with one of us. He said he will not leave his home and land, and he does not need anyone staying with him.

My dad is stricken with alzheimers yet refuses to wear the GPS tracking device required by the assisted living facility where he now lives. He cannot stay there unless he wears the necklace. He’s being ornery about it. Any suggestions?

Me and my family have just found out that my dad is in the early stages of alzheimers. I am just wonder how long my dad will be o.k. before the disease begins to change who he is, and also what are some things i can do with my dad to help him.

My mom is 77 years old and is showing signs of dementia. She becomes disoriented at time and can’ remember things. Example she did not know what house she was in today when I talked to her on the phone. She is also a diabetic and is on Kidney dialysis. My dad takes care of her but doesn’t seem to get the dementia, almost like a denial.
