Alzheimers is correctly the name for dementia at a young age – dementia itself (or more accurately senile dementia) is part of the ageing process to some extent.
People with Alzheimers exhibit these symptoms when still comparatively youg.
Many people incorrectly say an old person has Alzheimers – they don’t, they have dementia.
They are two different diseases dementia can be short term or long term memory lose. Alzheimer’s is a seven stage disease it is long term memory and short term memory loses and people sometimes relate themselves as being a child again. they can forget who their family is. Lose of appetite. They can become combative and they tend to wonder a lot. They also can sleep a lot. Unfortunately its a progressing and sad disease I have worked with people like this for 17 years.
