Alzheimer’s attacks the mind and it’s functions before it starts to weaken a person’s immune system. Most patients die from complications such as pneumonia, heart failure, kidney failure, etc. It is a devastating disease, more so for the families/caregivers, than for the victim, esp. as the disease progresses. It is, as an individual disease as any other, depending on the initial health and well-being of the patients.
