Does This Sound Like Alzheimers?
My mom is 53 or 54 and it seems like recently she forgets a lot of things. Like she can go sumwhere then the next day go back and it not b familliar at all. Or she can say or see something and not remember doing it. Does this sound like alzheimers? I’m REALLY scared about this bc it seems to have come on quite suddenly. Does tuis sound like it? Wat should I do?

There are just soooo many reasons a person can become forgetful – stress, various medications, and then there are also many forms of dementia, with alzheimers being only one of them, that cause forgetfulness. A lot of times, our memories go downhill as we age, simply because we don’t exercise our brains enough. Activities that keep your brain in good shape are reading, getting out and socializing, physical exercise (which pumps blood to the brain), getting a good nights sleep and actual memory work (like learning a poem or bible verses by heart)..
Check the thryoid – TSH, free T3 and free T4, check for vitamin B12 deficiency – urinary methlymalonic acid test is the most accurate but B12 serum should be over 800pg/L…very misdiagnosed! There are many reasons, Alzheimer’s Disease being one of them.
Memory Loss – Causes, Symptoms and Supplementation:
Don’t waste time here – if you really care for her, persuade her to see a doctor. There could be a whole number of reasons for her forgetfulness.
She needs a full exam, it could be anything including menopause.
First of all, don’t be afraid. We all suffer physical and mental breakdowns at different times in our lives. Your mother can still thrive for decades even if she does have Alzheimer’s. Symptoms fluctuate. Plus, this could be something treatable–like stress, or B12 deficiency. Give her a hug, then have her see a doctor. Then give her a back rub. Touch can be an amazing healer.
