Dementia is a progrssive, non-reversable loss of cognitive functioning..Alzheimer’s type is a common form, but other diseases- like Parkinson’s disease also have dementia in the later stages.
Dementia progression can be slowed by a drug called Aricept.
Kind of like alzheimers, I guess. Dementia is when your brain’s ability to process information declines due to brain disease or damage. It messes with your memory, attention, learning, language, etc. It also disorients you (possibly to extent that you don’t know what year it is), which resembles alzheimers. You also sometimes can’t recognize people or places (also like alzheimers).
