Alzheimer’s does not cause pneumonia.

Just because your relative has both, does not mean one thing caused the other (that’s a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.

A question from gungnir: My 11 year old daughter is having anxiety attacks, anyone have a child with anxiety?
She has been experiencing these for about a year now. Mom (me) had breast cancer – surgeries, chemo, radiation and herceptin. Grandpa got very ill during this time, Alzheimer’s & other medical conditions, and passed. Also, I had lost my job of 5.5 yrs right before diagnosis. We recently lost our home & car. It’s just she and I. For the most part, she has weathered all this extremely well, but has anxiety attacks. Have tried to find a Doc, 3 month wait, other issues impeding us getting in. She does talk to me about it, and the root seems to be “what if” – what if someone breaks in our house…..She realizes what is happening and can get ahold of it, sometimes…Anyone else had experience with a child? Are there any books or places I can get info? It tears me apart to not be able to really help her. She is afraid her whole life will be like this…oh I can feel her pain. Also, single mom, left Dad when I was 5 months pregnant.

Your story is so heartbreaking for me, you and your daughter have been through so much, and you seem so strong.

You have done the best that you can, just continue being there for her, and I can see the love that you have for your daughter. There is nothing more painful than a parent seeing their child in pain, I know that if you could you would trade places with her.

there is probably more to her anxiety, she has lost people she cares about and she is also probably worried that she will lose you also.

There is a website I found that is dedicated to children with anxiety and it helped understand some of the issues that we were struggling with my nephew.

What you can do is continue to be there for your child, and it is a good thing that she is talking to you about the problems.

Try to get her to relax, whether its playing music that she likes or playing with her her favorite game, that will force her to focus on something she enjoys.

If you can, get her a massage or massage her yourself. Massages are great stress relievers and this will drop her anxiety levels.

I hope these suggestions will help

A question asked by UNHAPPY: What happened to David Letterman’s left hand? Looks like he also has a black thumb nail.?
On the show from 2-15-11 he kept shaking when he held his hands out, then he would keep his left hand in his coat pocket most of the monologue. Something is obviously wrong. Could he have some type of symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease?

No 1 answer:

Answer by Beavis Comeavis
He is cursed. The curse makes his thumbnails turn black, he shakes, and he loses his ability to be funny.

Explaining alzheimer’s symptoms in a nutshell.

allaboutalzheimers.org Alzheimer’s disease involves the gradual destruction of brain cells and this eventually results in sufferers losing their memory and thinking ability. Being a progressive disease, the patients will experience personality changes and will do less and less as it progresses. In the final stages of the disease, the victims are helpless, usually bedridden and cannot even feed or speak. As you can imagine, it is a challenge to take care of these patients especially for close family members. Though the victims do not experience any physical pain at the onset, the disease can cause a great deal of emotional pain to their loved ones considering that the victims eventually fail to even recognize even their loved ones. Alzheimer??s care thus deserves the caregivers to have patience and empathy for the sufferers. Alzheimer??s care for the sufferer??s should be geared to maintaining the sufferer??s dignity. According the book ??Alzheimer??s ? Caring for Your Loved One. Caring for Yourself??, the author Sharon Fish gives very practical ways of assisting those who are affected. She says, ??Find easy things to do together that are meaningful and productive.??alzheimersalzheimers sufferersstages of alzheimers
